Family Flees Fire in Canningvale

A family has described how they fled a house fire in Canning Vale which is believed to have started in a fridge in the garage.
The fire took hold in the garage of the home in Coulthard Crescent just before 03:00 this morning.
15-year old Sophie Soltoggio says she and her parents were lucky to escape.
"I was asleep, next minute Mum woke up and went out the house and went into the kitchen, was screaming fire fire," she said.
"Me and Brock woke up and there was a massive fire in the garage."
Damage to the home and two cars is estimated at more than $300,000.
