Local News: Man and children escape house fire

A man and his five children have escaped a house fire near Bunbury.

Police media's Susan Usher says the man noticed smoke coming from his car in the driveway of his home in Clydesdale drive last night.

"He's raced outside and seen his car alight and thrown some water on it, but not been able to control the fire," she said.

"So, he's raced inside grabbed his five children, got them to safety and unfortunately the fire's continued onto the house, so I believe the arson squad will be investigating it today."

Damage has been estimated at $450,000.
