Jan 16, 2010
ARSON squad detectives are investigating the mystery death of 37-year-old accountant at his Forrestfield business on Saturday.
Firefighters were called
to a blaze at a Hale Road accountancy firm about 11.50am where they
found the charred body of a Wattle Grove man, who is understood to
be a father of young children .
It is not clear what caused the man's death.
Neighbours reported hearing a loud bang which shook the windows of their houses.
One neighbour is understood to have witnessed smoke coming from the building and tried to break down the front door, but failed to gain entry.
Police said the fire was contained within the building, which only sustained minimal structural damage.
``There's been a fire inside the premises,'' Insp Gary Lewis said. ``An explosion is still being investigated, but that has not been determined.
``There's no indication of a large explosion.''
The fire caused an estimated $100,000 damage to the property.
Forensic police will prepare a report for the coroner.
